With the project “Individual Health Management (IGM)”, the Vienna Regional Health Insurance Fund (WGKK) wants to help insured persons to improve their health competence as well as their lifestyle.
Many complaints and diseases can be avoided, or at least influenced positively, if both risk and protective factors for one’s own health are analysed and integrated into an individual health management.
By combining web-based, personal and various forms of personal accompanied health measures (individual coaching, group tests, etc.) an individual programme for health promotion and prevention of illness is to be developed. The aim is to turn individuals into the “managers of their own health”.
IGM in detail
Participation is possible for every person insured with the WGKK from the age of 18. By calling the IGM hotline Monday-Friday from 8am to 6pm under the telephone number 0800 600 591 or by sending an e-mail to firstname.lastname@example.org, an appointment for a first informational session can be arranged. An individual health portal and a personal IGM health coach accompany the participants in the individual stages of the programme. The programme is divided into screening, introductory, daily routine, and maintenance stages. By means of personal talks with the IGM health coach of the WGKK in the first quarter, followed by further contact if required, a long-term change in the participants’ attitudes and behaviour is aimed for over the course of a year. The personal IGM health coach of the WGKK guides the participants through the whole lifestyle programme. The new behaviour is thus integrated into daily routine and maintained on a long-term basis.
