Exemption from prescription charges


No application On application (branches)
For recipients of supplementary payments to pensions For persons whose monthly income does not exceed:
- for single persons: EUR 933,06

- for married couples or registered and other partnerships: EUR 1.398,97 
- for single recipients of pensions (at least 360 contribution months in compulsory pension insurance): EUR 1.048,57

These amounts are increased by EUR 143,97 for each child. If there are members of the insured person's family living in the same household who have an income of their own, this is taken into consideration.

For patients with notifiable contagious diseases
Attention!
This exemption is valid only for drugs needed for the notifiable contagious disease.
For persons who can prove that they have above average expenses because of illness or incapacity provided that the monthly income does not exceed:
- for single persons: EUR 1.073,02
- for married couples or registered and other partnerships: EUR 1.608,82

for single recipients of pensions (at least 360 contribution months in compulsory pension insurance): EUR 1.175,30
These amounts are increased by EUR 143,97 for each child. If there are members of the insured person's family living in the same household who have an income of their own, this is taken into consideration.
If the upper limit of the prescription charge in the amount of 2% of the annual net income is exceeded, the insured person is automatically exempt from prescription charges for the rest of the calendar year; a minimum of 37 prescription charges per year, however, must be paid.
